NHS Information on Euthanasia

Building on the work that we did in our last workshop on possible future scenarios, including scenes that feature an 'exit ceremony' in a future society, here are is UK NHS page on the topic - interesting that it exists.

A powerful topic to explore in 'Crowd'--really looking forward to how this is developed artistically and curious as to what the different perspectives from different communities Terra Nova has worked with are.

Sarah Davey-Hull just forwarded this to me: Google LA Times article 'It's getting crowded out here'...last Sunday - population feels like it's firmly back on the agenda...

Listened to Rachel podcast - she tries to talk about good death ...the interviewer dosen't seem to go there so it's only touched upon...her argument seems to be that the care you need in the last few weeks of your life is very expensive...sustainability wise etc...

I thought this an interesting argument not only do you 'exit' so someone can 'enter' the planet but it's greener and improves planet sustainability if you do!

Following this with interest. I wonder if you have checked out the work of Colin Tudge? He has a lot to say on population dynamics in his book "So shall we reap" which I'm currently reading, there's a lot about the agriculture crisis: intensive vs. enlightened farming viz a viz feeding the world. There is no reason why we can't feed even the most optimistic (pessimistic?!) world population but not within the current corporate farming industry, so reliant on a few monocultures. Sorry this may be nothing to do with what you want but it's still interesting and thought provoking! Good luck in your work.

Hi there
I've just been doing some more research into Tikopia. There's a number of articles that go into more detail or look at it from a different perspective. I think it would be interesting to look at these in regard to the scenes referencing Tikopia. I'm sure there's more we could access and develop and I'll get on the case. I imagine this would probably also be useful for the workshops and educational program.
this is a youtube clip that asks some interesting questions and references Tikopia
